Hey folks! Well, another weekend has come and gone. I have to say, I think this weekend was one of our most productive weekends in quite a while! Here’s the breakdown:
So as you guys know, Friday we announced that little Bing has a real name! So far we’ve gotten tons of great feedback and we’re super happy about that. Good thing, because if I had heard one bad comment, the wrath of pregnant Lindsey would have been unleashed. And if you’ve seen my normal wrath, then you know that pregnant wrath is not to be taken lightly.
Friday evening after work, Dave and I decided to go check out the Ruth’s Chris restaurant right down the road from our house. Now I realize that Ruth’s Chris isn’t a restaurant you just randomly check out, but our anniversary is Tuesday and we won’t feel like doing much during the week, so we decided to make it our Anniversary Dinner. Dude, that place is awesome. They still had Christmas decorations up (which I LOVED) and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend going for your next special occasion.
Saturday was supposed to be a ‘clean the house day’, but as usual, I got stir crazy and wanted to get out of the house. So off Dave and I went to pick out paint and supplies for Eli’s nursery. We picked an awesome color, got supplies, and got paint for the E’s (more on that at a later date…aka – when the project is done). Then we had some BBQ for lunch, which Bing (ahem, Elijah) liked. I judge what he likes based on how much movement I feel right after I eat. I have a feeling we’ve got a little piggy on our hands. Since I had some coupons, we figured we’d stop by the HUGE Buy Buy Baby store that was right around the corner. We walked out of there with a super fancy double-sided memory foam mattress for the crib. One side is super firm for infants and the other side is slightly more squishy for transitioning to the toddler bed. I got a good price on it with the coupon, but I’m starting to think this kid might have a better mattress than us!
After that shopping extravaganza, Lauren picked me up and we headed out for even more shopping. I managed to buy something at every store we went (oops). I like to think it was stuff I needed like some make-up, little outfits for Elijah that were irresistible, and some lotion for my super-itchy-all-over body. And honestly, who knows what else I bought because my growing alien is slowly sucking all my brain power.
Sunday is where we got productive. I did laundry and general house cleaning stuff while Dave painted the nursery.
Sure this is random, but check out how much static electricity is floating around our house. I found this when folding laundry. Those tassels are standing straight up!
Dave managed to finish the entire room (plus doing the trim) in one day! There are still some finishing touches to be done (mainly because I couldn’t decide on furniture arrangement and therefore we couldn’t hang anything), but here are a few pics of what we have so far.
The supplies.
I can’t tell you how awesome it is to see this closet so organized. It used to be filled to the brim with my clothes, shoes, and anything and everything. We’re planning on getting some kind of bins to place over to the left side to make even more usable space.
Mental note to self: Stop buying clothes.
So this is just a sneak peek. There’s a dresser on the wall opposite of the couch. We’ve still got some stuff to hang and once that’s done, I’ll get some better pics for you guys.
Also on Sunday, my dad stopped by to drop off the high chair that I used as a baby!! I can’t believe the shape that it’s in. I’ll post separately on it for you guys shortly.
And that, in a very long-winded nutshell, was our weekend. I hope you guys had a great one too. Happy Monday!

Awesome job, guys! Eli’s room looks GREAT so far. And Lindsey, you’ll find yourself going in there often to look at all those sweet baby clothes. So cute!
