I smell a family heirloom starting up.

So my mom is a smart lady.  When she had us, she bought some quality items and once we outgrew them, she stored them away.  I’m sure my dad had a part in that, but I have a feeling the sentimental buying and storing was an estrogen-fueled thing.  Because of that, Dave and I now have this super awesome high chair that I used as a baby.  How awesome is that?  Lauren has one that’s identical, but it will remain in storage until it’s Baby Time for her and Dow (which, btw, in case you’re wondering Lou and Dow, I’m ready for anytime…i’m not sayin’, just sayin’).

I mean, it’s in practically brand new condition.  What’s neat is that you can see a couple spots where the wood is worn a little from us using it.  The main spot is the bar that held our feet.  The other spot is the indention on the tray.  My dad says that’s from all the food shoveling we did.

Uh oh…major flaw.  Note that the food tray is right at nose level for Mollie.  I’m not going to lie; it makes me laugh thinking that she’ll be doing drive-bys of Eli’s high chair hoping that Dave and I (and Bing) aren’t watching her.  I’m pretty sure that most high chairs are this height, so there’s no avoiding it.  Besides, today is Mollie’s first day of school (obedience school, that is) so we anticipate a very well behaved pooch that wouldn’t even think about stealing food from a baby.  (Yeah right!)
