29 weeks down, 11 to go.

Holy crap.  Saturday night I was talking to Dave’s uncle about how much longer we had until Eli’s due date.  Two and a half months…I had to count it out three times before I decided my math was correct.  Craziness.

Anyways, today makes officially 29 weeks along for me.  I’m still feeling great!  I have slowed down a little, and I’m pretty bummed that the usual shopping trips now induce major napping episodes, but I’m grateful to feel as good as I do!

Here’s what the belly is looking like this week:

I broke down over the weekend and bought a few more maternity things since I’m having trouble finding things in my closet that I either don’t hate or fit in anymore.  I now have some slacks and a couple more shirts to wear!

As for Eli, he now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel.  He is approximately the size of a butternut squash.

As for the update:

His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain.  His brain is also maturing, with billions of neurons forming daily.  He can now hear better and can distinguish real sounds and voices from all the vibrations around him.  As you embark on the final months of your pregnancy, expect to put on at least 10 more pounds.

Oh great, rapid weight gain.  That’s just what I needed!!!

Survey time:

How far along? 29 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss? +14 pounds.
Maternity Clothes? Needing them more and more as the belly continues to make its appearance.
Stretch Marks? Nope, not yet.  Hopefully it’ll stay that way!
Sleep? I’m still tossing and turning at night, but I feel rested when I wake up, so that’s good.
Best moment this week? Hearing “You look much smaller in real life.” over the weekend.  Maybe I should slow down with the belly pics?
Cravings? Fruit is still number one on my list.
Gender: All BOY!  (This question is stupid.)
Labor Signs? Nothing yet although I think I’ve finally figured out Braxton Hicks contractions.  I only get them when I pee.  Is that weird?
Belly Button in or out? In.  I think it’s dangerously close to popping out before my due date though.  Blah.
What I miss: Wearing heels.  I wear them every once in a while, but I almost always regret it.
What I am looking forward to: My doctor’s appointment this afternoon.  It’s a routine check-up, but I like getting out of the office a little early in the afternoon!
Weekly Wisdom: Suck it up and buy some maternity clothes.
